Psychiatry & psychotherapy — Boston

To be known, in your full context.

I’m Mary. I run an intentionally small psychiatry practice that integrates medication and modern psychotherapy — with consideration of your history, your identities, and what it took to get here. I offer individual treatment for adolescents and adults, therapy for couples and family pairs, and consultation for those seeking a second opinion or help finding the right clinician. I see folks in-person in Boston (Brookline), and by telehealth across Massachusetts and Florida.

Working with me

Nothing about you gets considered in isolation.

I practice from a relational and social perspective. That means I am interested in your internal histories and external worlds, and especially in how those contexts shape what comes up between us. My style is curious, warm, and human — direct when it’s helpful, not as a default. I believe healing happens in connection, and keep my practice small so I can provide deeply personalized, thoughtful care to every person I see.

I come to medicine with past lives in technology, enterprise, and the social arts. My clinical training was at one of the premier medical psychiatry programs in the world, which I extended with systemic, cross-professional training across individual, couples, and family psychotherapy. I find that treatment is most effective when medications are used judiciously, and with full informed consent, alongside in-depth psychotherapy — the integrated model at the core of my practice. I also take on select individuals for therapy or medication only in close collaboration with their other providers. All my work is supported by ongoing case consultation and continuing education across medications and therapy.

Most of what changes in treatment happens in the relationship between us.

Areas of focus

Fees & insurance

I am not in network with any insurance plans. However, I provide superbills and work with Thrizer, which checks your out-of-network benefits before we begin. For most plans, Thrizer fronts the reimbursement — so you pay only your coinsurance at the time of the visit instead of paying the full fee and waiting on a reimbursement check. Claims are filed for you.
